Osaka police: Stabbing, suicide by suspected assailant leaves 3 dead

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police are investigating a stabbing incident in Izumisano City that left three people dead, including the suspected assailant, who is believed to have committed suicide, reports Fuji News Network (June 13).

At approximately 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, police arrived at a residence in the Izumisano area after receiving a distress call from someone claiming to have been “stabbed by my daughter’s boyfriend.”

Police found the bodies of Yonekazu Yamada, 72, his daughter Miho, 42, and wife, Kazumi, 66, collapsed in the residence. Yamada and his daughter were later confirmed dead at a nearby hospital. His wife remains seriously injured.

When police arrived at the scene, the whereabouts of the boyfriend were not known. However, the body of a man believed to be the boyfriend was found a little over an hour later in a parking garage for a hospital roughly 1.5 kilometers from the crime scene, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 13).

The man, whose socks were soaked in blood, is believed to have jumped to his death.
