KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have busted 10 outlets of a nationwide massage parlor chain for licensing violations, TV Asahi (June 6).
On May 31, police raided two parlors in Kanagawa — in Totsuka and Ebina cities — and a third in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture, which is run out of an apartment, on suspicion of providing sexual services in violation of the adult-entertainment law.
As a part of the investigation, police arrested two managers of the parlors and Takeshi Inoue, the 36-year-old chief of management company Prespa. All three suspects deny the charges, telling police that the masseuses do not provide sexual services.
According to the Kanagawa Shimbun (June 7), the three parlors serve between eight and 10 customers per day on sales between 100,000 yen to 130,000 yen. Prespa collects an average of 40 million yen in revenue each month.
In carrying out the crackdown, police also raided parlors under Prespa in Osaka, Tokyo and two other districts for the same violations.
Prespa is planning to open shops in Honolulu, Hawaii, Bangkok and Singapore.
