HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police suspect the same man was behind a pair of robberies at convenience stores located less than two kilometers apart early Saturday morning, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (May 28).

At approximately 3:20 a.m., a man in a white breathing mask entered a Family Mart outlet in the Danjocho area of Nishinomiya City and held a cutter knife before an 18-year-old cashier while demanding money. After taking 58,000 yen from a register, he fled the scene.

Five minutes later, a man with a similar mask entered a Family Mart outlet in the Takatsukasa area of Takarazuka City, located about 1.5 kilometers from the other outlet, and stole 88,000 yen. He also thrust a cutter knife in front of the cashier.

The man is believed to be in his 20s or 30s, measuring approximately 170 centimeters in height. In addition to the mask, he was also wearing a white cap and gray parka.
