AICHI (TR) – A man was arrested for raping a woman in a parking lot in Nagoya, Aichi police said on Friday.

Kei Mamiya, 35, a Central Nippon Expressway employee, was arrested on suspicion of inflicting violence and injury on a woman in Aichi Prefecture, the Asahi Shimbun reports on Friday (May 27).

Mamiya has admitted to the charges, police said.

According to the Mizuho Police Station, Mamiya is suspected of sneaking up from behind to a woman in her 20s, covering her mouth and dragging her to a nearby parking lot where he raped her and inflicted injuries on October 6, 2015, at around 11:20 p.m. in Mizuho Ward.

Central Nippon Expressway, which operates expressways and toll roads nationwide, said Mamiya works as an overseas roadway consultant.

“He will be strictly dealt with once the facts are clear,” Central Nippon Expressway said in a statement.
