Ibaraki cops investigating shooting incident at yakuza office in Tsuchiura

IBARAKI (TR) – Ibaraki Prefectural Police are investigating a shooting incident at an office of an organized crime group in Tsuchiura City, reports TBS News (May 10).

At about 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a report about gunshots heard near an office of the Matsuba-kai. Officers arriving at the scene found the concrete entrance gate of the building to have damage in two locations likely due to the impact of bullets.

At the time of the incident, gang members were inside the premises but there were no injuries.

Police are treating the incident as being connected to a gang conflict involving the Matsuba-kai.

The office is located about 800 meters from JR Tsuchiura Station.
