AOMORI (TR) – Aomori Prefectural Police have arrested a 57-year-old woman in the alleged killing of her sick husband in Towada City, reports Nippon News Network (May 9).

At 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Ryoko Terasawa, an employee at a nursery, telephoned her older brother to say that she had just strangled her husband, 63-year-old Shigemi, to death with a cord inside their residence. Police officers arriving at the residence found him lying face-up in a first-floor bedroom. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

Terasawa, who has been charged with murder, admits to the allegation. “After he went to bed, I strangled him,” the suspect is quoted by police.

According to TBS News (May 9), Terasawa had expressed concern to colleagues at the nursery about her husband, who was battling an illness.
