CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of two bodies in a forested area of Abiko City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (May 3).
At approximately 3:00 p.m. on Monday, a person out picking flowers telephoned police about the discovery of skeletal remains near the Fureai Campsite, located in the Okahotto area.
Officers from the Abiko Police Station arriving at the scene found the bones of what are believed to be two people. The gender and age of the bodies are unknown.
The bodies were not clothed. However, a coat, pants, shoes, a saucepan and wrapping paper were found dropped in the immediate area, according to TBS News (May 3).
Police are treating the case to be the result of foul play or suicide.
