NIIGATA (TR) – Niigata Prefectural Police have arrested a 65-year-old man and his stepdaughter for the alleged killing of an infant he fathered with her in Itoigawa City, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (April 25).

In the summer of 2014, Eishi Nakamura, a part-time employee, and Kazumi Nakamura, a 28-year-old daughter of his wife, allegedly slit the throat of their newborn son after he was born inside a second-floor bedroom of their residence, located in the Uta area. The baby’s body was then discarded.

Eishi Nakamura, who has been charged with murder and abandoning a corpse, denies the charges. His step daughter admits to the allegations.

On February 20, Kazumi Nakamura moved to Handa City, Aichi Prefecture after encountering financial difficulties with her mother.

After telling a female friend about the incident, she consulted with Aichi police. Under questioning, she told investigators that Eishi Nakamara ordered her to kill the child. On March 29, police first arrested Eishi for assaulting Kazumi, according to the Sankei Shimbun (April 25).

The body of the baby has not yet been found.

In 2001, Eishi Nakamura married the mother of Kazumi. At the time of the incident, all three persons were sharing the residence in Itoigawa.
