KANAGAWA (TR) – On the underside of that insincere smile is a wicked woman.

At least, that was the eventual conclusion of two salarymen who were detained and beaten over an extended period by a bar hostess inside a hotel room in Kanagawa Prefecture in January, reports Nikkan Gendai (April 17).

Last week, Kanagawa Prefectural Police arrested 26-year-old Ami Imagawa, a resident of Ayase City, on charges of assault, confinement and robbery. According to the paper, the source of the incident was gossip.

“The men, who were customers at the suspect’s bar, had whispered to another hostess that she is ‘a little weird,'” an investigator tells the paper. “After getting wind of the backbiting, she then summoned them to the hotel.”

Starting on the evening of January 28, Imagawa mercilessly clubbed the two men with a karaoke microphone and splashed boiling water on their bodes for approximately 17 hours inside a room of the hotel, located in Yamato City. She also robbed the victims of 140,000 yen.

“You both are worthless bums; empty your wallets,” the suspect reportedly said at one point during the incident in threatening the victims.

The pair, who suffered burns to their faces and injuries to their hands and feet that required up to two months to heal, escaped the room when the suspect went to sleep. Prior to their getaway, they managed to get back their wallets containing the cash.
