HOKKAIDO (TR) – Hokkaido Prefectural Police have arrested a 26-year-old bar host for allegedly removing a tooth from a colleague in Sapporo, reports the Sankei Shimbun (April 9).

Early last month, Hiroki Tsuchiya allegedly used pliers to forcibly remove a canine tooth from the lower jaw of a 40-year-old subordinate at the club, located in the Susukino red-light district.

“We were just joking around, and I removed a loose tooth with a cavity,” police quoted the suspect, who has been charged with inflicting injury.

According to the Asahi Shimbun (April 8), several other employees had gathered around the pair during the extraction.

Police are now investigating whether the employee regularly received abuse from his boss.
