Osaka police: Man, woman die in 10-floor plunge from apartment

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police believe a man and woman committed suicide by leaping from the 10th floor of an apartment building in Sumiyoshi Ward, reports Mainichi Broadcasting System (April 7).

At approximately 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a tip about two bodies collapsed and bleeding on a parking garage for the building, located in the Karita area.

The man, possibly up to 70 years of age, and woman, believed to be aged in her 20s or 30s, were later confirmed dead at a nearby hospital.

According to identification documents found at the scene, the woman is the man’s daughter. They both live in the immediate area.

On a stairwell connecting the 10th and 11th floor, officers from the Sumiyoshi Police Station found eye glasses and clothes, including a coat and jacket, that are believed to be from the man and woman, according to the Sankei Shimbun (April 7).
