TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have made one arrest following a fist fight involving two feuding organized crime groups in Adachi Ward, reports Nippon News Network (Mar. 20).

At approximately 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, police received a tip about a brawl taking place on a road of an entertainment area near Takenotsuka Station.

Police arriving at the scene subsequently arrested Toshiyuki Abe, a 47-year-old member of the Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi, for allegedly assaulting three members of the Yamaguchi-gumi, all of whom suffered head injuries.

Police believe approximately 20 persons participated in the brawl and are now seeking the whereabouts of other gang members who fled the scene.

The Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi formed following the dissolution of the Yamaguchi-gumi last summer. Police are viewing the incident as a part of the ongoing feud between the two gangs that has escalated in recent weeks.
