OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have busted a prostitution ring that extorted male customers, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Feb. 5).

Between August and November of last year, Masayuki Kayahara, 43, and five other members of the group allegedly supplied female prostitutes to customers who were subsequently forced to pay additional fees for fabricated reasons.

One victim who consulted with officers at the Sonezaki Police Station in August said that the group demanded one million yen in compensation due to “a condom slipping off.”

The six suspects have been charged with violating the Anti-Prostitution Law. Kayahara, who is a former manager of a sex parlor, has refused to comment on the allegations.

The service operated on a “delivery health” basis, which entails women being dispatched to hotels or residences.
