YOKOHAMA (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 33-year-old male employee of a pharmaceutical company for picking up an underage female prostitute he met on social-networking site Twitter, reports TBS News (Jan. 22).

In August of last year, Hitoshii Takamura, who works at Taiho Pharmaceutical, allegedly paid 25,000 yen to the girl, a 15-year-old middle school student, for a sexual encounter at a hotel in Kawasaki City.

Takamura, who has been charged with violating child prostitution laws, admits to the allegations. “I did it due to sexual frustration,” the suspect is quoted by police.

The suspect, a resident of Yokohama, responded to a posting on Twitter by the girl in which she said she was seeking “pocket money,” according to Fuji News Network (Jan. 22).

The suspect says that he has committed the same crime repeatedly over the past five years.
