OSAKA (TR) – Hiroshima Prefectural Police on Wednesday announced the bust of a nationwide mail order business that sold illegal pornographic DVDs from its base of operations in Higashiosaka City, reports Nikkan Sports (Jan. 20).

On December 13, Ryuta Togawa, the 27-year-old manager of the operation, located in the Ohasukita area, allegedly sold three DVDs in which genitalia was not censored to a 39-year-old male living in Hiroshima’s Saeki Ward for 600 yen.

On Tuesday, police took Togawa and three other employees into custody and seized approximately 120,000 discs and 53 dubbing machines from the shop’s storage house.

Togawa, who has been charged with possessing obscene digital material for the purpose of sale, denies the allegations, telling police that he did not know that the DVDs contain illegal content.

For a 10-year period, the suspects sold discs via an Internet site for 200 yen each. Sales have averaged more than one million yen each day.
