CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy following the discovery of the bodies of his grandparents inside their residence in Kimitsu City, reports Nippon News Network (Dec. 27).

On Saturday, officers found the bodies of the boy’s grandfather, 67, and grandmother, 64, collapsed in the first-floor entrance and inside a second-floor bedroom. Both bodies, clothed in pajamas, exhibited injuries to the head, consistent with a beating, and multiple stab wounds.

An ax, knife and hammer were also discovered at the scene of the crime, according to NHK (Dec. 28).

The boy, who has been charged with the murder of his grandmother, admits to the allegations, telling police that he was having problems with relationships at school. “I did it to relieve stress,” the suspect is quoted by police.

He also said that he “could have killed anyone.”

On December 22, the boy participated in a ceremony at his high school in Kimitsu. The crime was committed the following day.

The boy turned himself in to officers at the Kimitsu Police Station on Saturday evening.

Police expect to also apply murder charges to the boy for the killing of his grandfather.
