SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police on Sunday announced the bust of a specialty bar in Kawaguchi City that allows customers to engage in sex, reports Saitama Shimbun (Nov. 29).

On Saturday night, 74 officers raided Bar 999, located in the Nishi Kawaguchi area, and arrested two customers, a 45-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, on charges of public obscenity. Police also arrested four staff members of the bar for providing a venue to commit the crime.

According to police, Bar 999, which is known as a “happening bar,” includes a three-square-meter “play room” in which the interior can be viewed by customers from the outside.

The bar operates on a membership system. Entry fees for single men begin at 8,000 yen while women are charged 1,000 yen.

In June, male and female customers lodged complaints with police after being refused entry to Bar 999. Police subsequently launched an investigation.

At the time of the raid, there were 25 customers inside the bar, which was holding a special event to celebrate its one-year anniversary.
