AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police on Saturday arrested a 72-year-old woman for the murder of her husband at a residence they share in the Myochicho area of Miyoshi City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Nov. 29).
At approximately 8:30 a.m., the 41-year-old son of the couple found the body of his father, Joichi, 73, lying beneath a futon in a bedroom with blood coming from the mouth. Emergency personnel arriving at the scene later confirmed him dead.
Natsuko Sasano has admitted to strangling her husband to death. “I strangled him with my hands,” the suspect is quoted by police.
The son, who also lives in the residence, said that his father had been suffering from dementia, according to TV Asahi (Nov. 29).
