TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 24-year-old Brazilian male for forcing his former girlfriend into prostitution in November, reports NHK (Nov. 27).
Over a 12-day period, Hiroyuki Wildener Ito allegedly intimidated his former girlfriend, 19, into providing sex services to male customers on 20 occasions at a hotel in Sumida Ward. Sales resulting from the encounters totalled 400,000 yen.
Ito has declined to comment on the allegations.
After the girl told the suspect that she was ending their relationship, he became enraged. He then threatened the girl by saying that she had the option of entering the adult video industry or engaging in enjo kosai, meaning compensated dating, according to TV Asahi (Nov. 27). He also claimed to have connections to organized crime and said he would kill her.
The girl eventually notified police of the abuse. Officers then began patrols around the home of her parents, where she lives. The suspect was later apprehended after being spotted in the neighborhood of the home.
