OKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Wednesday re-arrested popular actress Ai Takabe for using cocaine, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Nov. 4).

Takabe, 27, tested positive for cocaine in a urine analysis taken following her initial arrest last month for possession of the drug.

On the morning of October 15, police took Takabe, whose real name is Ai Nakayama, into custody after a search of her residence in Shibuya Ward resulted in the discovery of cocaine.

Following her initial arrest, Takabe admitted to the allegations, telling police that she received the drug from an acquaintance.

Multiple media outlets, including Yukan Fuji (Nov. 2), reported that Takabe appeared at a Halloween party attended by more than 50 number of actresses and bikini idols, including Yuri Morishita, on the evening before her arrest. Takabe was dressed as Alice from “Alice in Wonderland.”

In 2004, Takabe won the Gravure-sho, or Pin-Up Award, at the All-Japan National Beautiful Girl Contest. She subsequently went on to appear in television dramas and as a voice actress in animations, including “Kill Me, Baby,” which was broadcast on TBS in 2012.

Oscar Promotion, the agency representing Takabe, cancelled her contract on the same day she was first arrested.
