OSAKA (TR) – As a part of a crackdown on illegal massage parlors, Osaka Prefectural Police on Wednesday announced the bust of five establishments operating out of residences for licensing violations, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Sep. 9).

Officers arrested 14 staff members and managers of the establishments, including Piporet, located in Chuo Ward, and Shorakuen, located in Kita Ward, for providing customers with sex services in violation of the adult-entertainment law.

The 38-year-old manager of Piporet, which was busted on Tuesday, denies the allegations. “The girls (provided sex) on their own accord,” the suspect, a Korean national, is quoted by police.

At Shorakuen, where the attendants are attired in costumes, the price of the standard oil massage service is 5,000 yen for the first 60 minutes.

The businesses rented a total of 13 apartments in six locations across Osaka. Known under the title “home sex,” the parlors prospered due to the peace of mind the residential setting was able to convey to customers.
