TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Monday announced the arrest of 21-year-old male on multiple charges related to illicit images of a former girlfriend, reports the Asahi Shimbun (Aug. 31).
Between November and December of 2013, Ushio Kanzawa, a resident of Susuno City, Shizuoka Prefecture, repeatedly sent messages to the woman, now in her 20s, demanding that she must listen to him in order to prevent the distribution of images showing her in the nude. He also demanded that he refer to him as “Mr.”
Kanzawa, who has been charged with attempted extortion, has admitted to the allegations. “I did it because I could not forget her,” the suspect is quoted by police.
The suspect also faces child pornography charges for sending eight naked images of the woman via Twitter to an acquaintance of the victim in demanding her current email address, according to Fuji News Network (Aug. 31).
The images were taken by the suspect when they were dating. At the time, she was a minor.
