SAGA (TR) – Saga Prefectural Police will make an arrest in the discovery of the bodies of a construction executive and his female associate at a surplus soil storage yard in Saga City, reports the Saga Shimbun (Aug. 10).

On Sunday, police said they intend to take a 66-year contractor in the waste management industry into custody for abandoning the bodies of Ra Jisan, a 70-year-old Korean national who heads several real estate and construction firms in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and 48-year-old Chie Matsuhiro.

On July 25 and 26, police found the skeletal remains of the pair buried at the yard, which is located in the Kuboizumimachi area.

In addition to the bodies, Matsuhiro’s vehicle was also found buried at the yard. Due to the stage of decay of the corpses, a cause of death has not been determined.

In the middle of August of last year, the pair left word with acquaintances Shimonoseki that they were headed to Saga in Matsuhiro’s car to attend to debt-related matters. Neither was heard from again.

Police believe that the victims had encountered financial problems with the suspect, who has undergone questioning and had his office and residence searched.
