OKAYAMA (TR) – Okayama Prefectural Police on Tuesday arrested a 46-year-old high school supervisor for assaulting an out-call “delivery health” prostitute at a hotel in Kurashiki City, reports the Sanyo Shimbun (Aug. 5).

At approximately 10:30 p.m., Nobuo Tanaka, the head of teacher training for the Okayama Board of Education, is alleged to have repeatedly hit the woman, 25, in the face. The victim, who received a cut lip, then telephoned police. The suspect was later apprehended on a road outside the hotel.

Tanaka, who has been charged with inflicting injury, admits to the allegations. “The sex service was not satisfactory,” the suspect is quoted by officers from the Kurashiki Police Station.

Chikura Takei, the superintendent of education for the prefecture, said that the matter will be dealt with strictly. “Efforts will be made to prevent a recurrence as a part of striving to restore the trust of the citizens,” he said.
