OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police on Wednesday busted an illegal pornographic DVD business in Osaka City’s Naniwa Ward, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 18).

Officers took Junji Matsumoto, the 43-year-old manager of the operation, located inside two apartments in the Ebisunishi area, and six other employees into custody over the alleged sale of obscene media.

By law, films available and made in Japan are required to have genitalia properly censored.

Officers also seized 100,000 DVDs, five personal computers and 30 dubbing machines from a nearby warehouse.

According to police, the suspects sold the discs by mail order over the Internet for between 140 and 150 yen. The operation generated approximately 430 million yen in revenue since opening December of 2012.
