At approximately 1:00 p.m., Keiichi Sato arrived at a police station in the prefecture to inform officers that he had strangled his girlfriend in her apartment in Miyamae Ward that morning.
Officers arriving at the scene of the crime found the body of 32-year-old Nagisa Saito. The victim was then confirmed dead.
Sato told police that the victim wanted to end their relationship. “Since the beginning of the year, the fights we got into never stopped,” the suspect is quoted by police, according to TBS News (April 20).
