TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of a 32-year-old male company employee for engaging in illicit acts with three minors, reports Nippon News Network (April 1).

In March of 2013, Takeshi Kagabu, a resident of Adachi Ward, allegedly hired three girls, at the time aged between 13 and 15, for a sexual rendezvous at a hotel in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture. He paid each girl 20,000 yen.

Kagabu, who has been charged with violating child pornography and prostitution laws, denies the allegations. “I thought they were adults,” the suspect is quoted by police.

At the time of the incident, the three girls were attending the same middle school. Kagabu became acquainted with one of the students through a deai-kei matchmaking site.
