TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Thursday arrested a male truck driver for allegedly soliciting illicit photographs from school girls last year using his smartphone, reports the Sankei Shimbun (March 5).
Officers took Tomohiro Onuki, 47-year-old resident of Minamidaira, for violating child pornography and prostitution laws after a second-year high school girl, 17, sent him photographs showing her chest and lower body on 28 occasions between February and October via the application Line.
Onuki, who had never met the girl, has reportedly admitted to the allegations. “If you are insistent, they don’t refuse,” the suspect is quoted by police, according to Fuji News Network (March 5).
According to police, Onuki solicited young girls in the street near his residence and in nearby Akishima City beginning in September. The suspect’s name surfaced after police examined the email address he had written on business cards that he passed to the girls.
A search of the suspect’s residence by police revealed a smartphone containing 69 photographs of the 17-year-old girl. Police also found approximately 10,000 other images of an unspecified number of girls that had been taken from behind.
