TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Wednesday announced the bust of a host club located in the Ikebukuro entertainment on charges of prostitution, reports Nippon News Network (Feb. 26).

Officers took Manabu Fukushima, the 30-year-old manager of club A Member, his 31-year-old brother, his mother, 51-year-old Yukie Tsuchino, and six other suspects into custody for forcing approximately 90 women with unpaid bills into prostitution between October 30 of last year and January 8.

In one case, a 20-year-old woman provided sexual services to four male customers at love hotels in the Tokyo metropolitan area in order to pay back a debt of 1.25 million yen.

According to the woman, Fukushima threatened her. “Because you cannot pay, either you cut off one of your fingers or enter prostitution,” the suspect is alleged to have said, according to TBS News (Feb. 26).

Fukushima has reportedly denied involvement, while the other eight suspects have admitted participation.
