Kanagawa cops bust Yokohama casino; 3 arrested

KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police on Thursday busted a casino in Yokohama for offering illegal gambling, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Nov. 28).

At approximately 9:30 a.m., officers took the main proprietor of Mevius, Hayataro Kaizu, 34, and two other suspects into custody for operating a casino that provided slot machines and baccarat tables. Investigators confiscated four baccarat tables and eight slot machines.

The establishment, located in Chuo Ward, has collected 150 million yen in revenue since the end of May.

The three suspects have reportedly admitted to the allegations.
