OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police on searched the headquarters of an organized crime group on Friday after the discovery of weapons in a storage room last month, reports Mainichi Broadcasting System (Oct. 18).

At around 10 a.m., about officers raided the offices of the Kyokushin Rengo-kai, an affiliate gang to the Yamaguchi-gumi, for violations of the Swords and Firearms Control Law and removed two cardboard boxes containing evidence.

A search of a storage unit in Ikuno Ward by police in September revealed seven pistols, 500 bullets and 21 sticks of dynamite.

On October 6, Kyokushin Rengo-kai upper-level boss Yoshihiro Taguchi, 65, was arrested for possession of an automatic pistol and 112 rounds of ammunition. Four other gang members were also arrested.

One of the arrested suspects indicated to police that Taguchi had instructed him to look after a weapon. During questioning Taguchi has refused to comment on the allegations.
