Tokyo scout firm busted for street hustling, recruited teen girl for sex club

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Friday announced the bust of a talent agency for adult-entertainment clubs illegal recruitment, reports news wire Jiji Press (Sept. 9).

Officers from the peace preservation division took Mamoru Yoshioka, 34, the president of staffing company Sense, located in Toshima Ward, and two other employees into custody for recruiting women via street solicitation to work in the sex industry, which violates Tokyo public nuisance ordinances.

Sense employs 67 street scouts. Since August of 2011, the company earned 300 million yen in revenue for supplying women to 50 clubs in Tokyo and Kanagawa and Saitama prefectures.

Officers also cited eight other employees at Sense for staffing women at six clubs that regularly engaged in overcharging customers.

All of the suspects have reportedly admitted to the allegations.

In once case, scouts in the Ikebukuro area recruited a 16-year-old girl to work at a sex club. Over a four-day period, she earned 140,000 yen in wages.
