TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Monday announced the bust of a massage parlor in the Gotanda area of Shinagawa Ward on charges of prostitution, reports TBS News (July 8).

On the evening of July 6, officers took the manager of Wave, Takamasa Horikawa, 36, proprietor Song Shuhua, 38, and two other employees into custody for employing Chinese masseuses to dispense sexual services to male customers inside private rooms.

Wave served approximately 100 customers daily. Rates at the parlor started at 10,000 yen for the first 40 minutes. The establishment collected 972 million yen in revenue since its opening four and a half years ago, police said.

Horikawa has reportedly denied the allegations, while Song, a Chinese national, and the other two suspects have admitted involvement.

According to Jiji Press (July 8), included in the 8 masseuses on staff — aged between 22 and 47 — was a foreign exchange student.
