TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police last week arrested three employees of an operation that allegedly sold uncensored porn DVDs in Toshima Ward, reports TV Asahi (Jan. 28).

On January 23, officers took manager Yusuke Takaishi, 22, and warehouse supervisor Shinya Futatsuki, 37, and one other suspect into custody for possessing 12,000 unaltered porn DVDs with intent to sell.

By law, films available in Japan are required to have genitalia properly censored.

The operation, which included a one-room apartment and storage space in the Ikebukuro entertainment area, attempted to evade detection by not posting a sign outside its premises. Street solicitation was used to recruit customers.

The shop generated approximately 10 million yen in revenue each month, police said.

According to Yomiuri Television (Jan. 28), Futatsuki was arrested last October on the same charges in Tokyo’s Kabukicho red-light district. He was found guilty and received a suspended sentence. He has reportedly admitted to the allegations for this latest arrest. “I’m prepared to go to prison,” Futatsuki is quoted by officers.

Takaishi also reportedly admitted to the allegations, saying he was experiencing financial difficulties.
