Finally the police pounced on Love and Peace and placed its 45-year-old owner, Tatsuo Horie, under arrest.
“When the police raided the shop, there were four women and three male customers engaged in obscene acts,” says a police source. “The women ranged in age from 29 to 53, all of who were employees. The male customers, mostly in their 30s, paid 16,000 yen each, and it’s estimated that at the rate of 20 customers per day, the shop would have earned approximately 140 million yen.”
These revenues are all the more remarkable considering the impact of the long-running recession on the sex industry.
“Pink” journalist Yukio Murakami tells the tabloid that Love and Peace followed an established “Candies” style pattern, in which females who were endomorphic, mesomorphic and ectomorphic (i.e., a chubby one, one of average build and a slender one) took part in the orgies.
“Usually they’d be in their 20s and 30s,” says Murakami. “But by adding a woman in her 50s, the shop was also able to change its orgy style to a “mixed” pattern that offered ‘mature ladies’ as well.
“It’s likely the older woman boasted a greater range of techniques, including ‘deep-throat’ blow jobs and prostate massage via the anus,” he adds. “This no doubt served to attract more customers.”
Horie’s establishment was also reportedly one in which the owner enjoyed participating in the orgies himself, or as the writer put it tongue-in-cheek, “He turned losses into gains.”
When the action at Love and Peace really got hot and heavy, customers were able to avail themselves of such mundane entertainment as snapping photos of the female employees’ private parts, and participating in various sex games. In the course of a session, customers were able to play with as many as five or six women in succession.
“The women would earn from as much as 50,000 to 80,000 yen per working day,” says Murakami, who added, “By the end of a particularly busy day their vaginas had become so irritated, they had taken to inserting condoms stuffed with ice cubes to cool them down.” (K.S.)
