TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Friday announced the arrest of a former Nippon Pro Baseball player for offering sexual services without a proper license at a massage club in the Otsuka entertainment area, reports the Sankei Sports (Nov. 10).

Officers from the peace preservation division took former pitcher Toshoku Uda, 64, who started his career in 1972 with the Toei Flyers (now the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters), and another employee, 48-year-old Goro Nezu, into custody for employing Chinese women to provide oral and hand-assisted sexual services in private rooms at club Milk in violation of the the Law Regulating Adult Entertainment Businesses.

The right-hander, who is of Korean descent, had his best season in 1979, when he compiled a 9-3 win-loss record over 39 games. He also pitched for the Hanshin Tigers for the 1982 campaign before playing in Korea and retiring in 1984.

On October 20 at 1:20 a.m., officers arrested the 62-year-old manager of Milk. However, through subsequent investigations it was determined that the former pitcher was in fact the true head of the club’s operations, according to police.

Uda has reportedly denied the allegations. “Management rights were transferred to another employee,” the suspect is quoted as saying. “I am not involved.”

During his career, Uda was known for his side-arm delivery and ability to change speeds. Following retirement, he became a television commentator for the Fighters.

The same operation was busted in April, when it was known as Strawberry.
