Takuma Otoshi, 63, was cited at approximately 8:00 a.m. on August 22 for allegedly using the video recording feature on an Apple iPod to film up the skirt of a woman on an escalator at JR Yotsuya Station — a violation of a Tokyo ordinance regarding causing a public nuisance.
At the time of the incident, a male commuter saw Otoshi’s activities with the iPod and alerted station personnel. A number of image files were discovered on his iPod.
According to investigators, Otoshi has admitted the allegations. “I have an interest in peeping photos,” the former president is quoted by police.
Otoshi, who served as president between 1999 and 2009, was at the time employed at IBM Japan as a senior adviser.
The public relations department at IBM Japan tells Nikkan Sports that Otoshi has since submitted his resignation. “We have no details related to this matter,” an IBM Japan spokesperson is quoted.
