A gangster from the Yamaguchi-gumi criminal syndicate was taken into custody on May 16 for the attempted extortion of the father of well-known actress, reports weekly tabloid Shukun Shincho (June 7).
Masahito Petei, 62, was taken into custody by officers from the Tsukishima Police Station for threatening the father and demanding a cash payment on April 25 and 28 in the lounge of a hotel in the Akasaka district of Minato Ward.
“The gangster provided a nude photo of the man’s daughter,” says a reporter covering the police beat. “He said, ‘If you don’t want to see this in a tabloid magazine, give me five,’ which means five million yen.
The father, 70, was embarrassed, but he went to the police.
“If the photo were a fake, in the eyes of the police, it is still a crime, and they therefore treated it as such,” the same police reporter adds.
According to Sports Nippon (May 25), Petei admits to requesting money but denies the charge that he threatened the victim.
It goes without saying that the entertainment world — and readers of Shukan Shincho — are very interested to know the name of the actress.
“She works for a big agency that produces a lot of dramas with top actresses in the lead roles,” says an employee in the entertainment world. “She’s tall, has a slim face — a real beauty. She appeared in the drama ‘Yonimo Kimyona Monogatari’ and a commercial for a big pharmaceutical company.”
Though the magazine only provides a pixelated photo of the actress and does not name her, numerous bloggers have concluded that she is Tomoko Teshima.
The Nara Prefecture native married a politician in his 40s last March, and gave birth to a baby in Hawaii in September.
“In junior high school, she was on the tennis team and devoted,” says a person who knows the actress. “But in high school, she changed. She became a ganguro girl with a tanned face and blonde hair, and played around in the clubs of Osaka.”
She started in show business in 2003. The following year, she ranked in the top-ten in the Miss International Japan contest.
The aforementioned police reporter says that the image shows her to be fully naked. “You can see everything — her bust and nether areas, or so I hear,” says the journalist. “I don’t know how gangsters could get their hands on that kind of photo.” (K.N.)
