Gang member arrested for discharging gun inside Fukuoka construction office

FUKUOKA (TR) – A member of an organized crime group was arrested today in Fukuoka for allegedly discharging a firearm inside the office of a construction firm earlier this year, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 13).

Yoshitaka Toyonaga, 60, a member of the Taishu-kai crime group, was taken into custody for violating the Swords and Firearms Law after firing six rounds from a gun inside the entry way of a construction company in the city of Iizuka at 1:30 a.m. on February 21.

All told, six arrests were made over the incident, including the number-two-ranking member of the Taishu-kai, 54-year-old Masatoshi Hara.

Toyonaga denied his involvement in the shooting. “I had nothing to do with it,” he is quoted as saying.
