Yakuza gangster busted in Fukuoka for fake marriage involving Filipino transvestite
The suspect allegedly filed fake marriage papers for a transvestite from the Philippines
TOKYO (TR) – A member of an organized crime group was arrested Tuesday in Fukuoka for a fraudulent marriage to a shemale from the Philippines, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 12).

Fukuoka prefectural police took Isami Kawaguchi, a member of the Dojin-kai crime group, into custody for filing fake marriage papers in order to gain residency for a 40-year Filipino transvestite. “I thought he was a woman,” Kawaguchi is quoted by officers. “This is not a fake marriage.”

On February 6, 2009, the 60-year-old Kawaguchi is accused of visiting the Hakata Ward Office to make the fraudulent filing.

Over the past few years, Fukuoka prefectural police have discovered several men from the Philippines to be engaged in sham marriages and working in Fukuoka’s pleasure quarters.
