The suspect was touting cheap hostess clubs in the Shiba area
TOKYO (TR) – A Sumiyoshi-kai gang member touting a hostess club was arrested in Tokyo yesterday evening for violating a nuisance prevention ordinance, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Sept. 15).

At around 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, members of the Mita station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police took Katsumi Kanbayashi, a resident of Saitama City, into custody after being followed by two officers in plain clothes in the Shiba district of Minato Ward. Officers said that the 47-year-old had been touting a hostess club as being cheap, proclaiming, “All it takes is 4,000 yen!”

The Shiba area has narrow alleys and streets packed with restaurants and bars. Police reportedly had received complaints about loud touting taking place in the streets and began patrolling the area.
