Brett, have you thought of adding any text to maybe clarify the message of the protesters, or maybe interview any of them? If someone wants to better understand the event and the intentions of the various people, I don’t think the photos really say it all. There’s also some interesting back story you could write about how the protest is planned and coordinated with police and stuff.
I personally don’t really know a lot about these groups political statements. Some of there are blatant racists I’ve heard, but what else do they think? What are their reasons for being racist? What do they hope to accomplish, etc. Just thought you might be in a unique position to shed more light on the event.
