TOKYO (TR) – Evening tabloid Yukan Fuji is reporting the bust of an out-call prostitution service operated from a residence in Tokyo’s Shibuya Ward.

Madam Muse, which billed itself as offering the “essence of a goddess,” had two of its managers, a 50-year-old member of the Yamaguchi-gumi crime syndicate and a 39-year-old male, arrested for violating the Anti-Prostitution Law. “We are just making a living,” both are reported to have said to police authorities during questioning. Proceeds from the business were being funneled back to the yakuza gang.

The operation, which started in November 2007, dispatched girls from its headquarters in the nightlife area of Dogenzaka to meet customers at a predetermined location, a procedure known as deri heru (or literally “delivery health”). Rates started at 20,000 yen per hour and continued upward to 30,000 yen for 120 minutes. Sales averaged 9 million yen each month, it was learned.

The investigation began on March 4, when a police representative placed a phone call to the service requesting a female arrive at his Shibuya hotel room.
